External phds/employees/contacts (without ru salary) can register for a so called E-account at the central personal department

  • Contact : your section's management assistant and personal departement.
  • Registration is done using the form Media:Aanmeldingsformulier_overige_relaties.pdf for which you need a copy for you identity card/passport and a signature for approval by a local contact
  • you can register for one of more of the following :
    • to get online access to the library. You don't need a science account for accessing the library, you can just visit the library website and when authorization is needed you can login with your E-account.
    • to get a university personal card which you eg. can use to lend books at the library
    • to get access to the building
    • to get access to the wireless network (ru-wlan)
    • or any other specific university resource which needs registration for access
  • people with an e-account are not shown in the phone/address guide of the university but they are certainly registered in RBS which is only fully accessible by a limited set of people (e.g. Irma Haerkens)
  • local employees need to register a so called u-account instead
  • people at the Science faculty also have a local ScienceAccount. However most external phds/employees/contacts won't need this account.
