Installing a printer
The preferred way to install a printer is to use the samba server of C&CZ.
Technical details :
- uses central printer server to send jobs to printer:
- Windows:
\\printto.science.ru.nl\printernameor\\printer-srv.science.ru.nl\printername(both seem to work under Windows 7 as of 2014-08-19) - Linux, Mac:
smb://printsmb.science.ru.nl/printername(Reason for alternative server: bug in smb software used by Linux,Mac)
- Windows:
- authentication needed with science account
- works on all local networks (including wireless networks)
