Synchronising pc time with a timeserver

The clock on the pc may not be always correct. This can be improved by synchronising with a ntp timeserver using the ntp protocol.

Time servers for ntp protocol

  1. ntp1.science.ru.nl
  2. ntp2.science.ru.nl

Configure automatic time synchronisation

- in windows : double click on the time in taskbar, and set the above time servers.
- in fedora linux : system-config-time, and set the above time servers

Manual synchronise time (linux only) :

Alternative : rdate protocol

  •    time-srv.science.ru.nl
